I must apologize - I posted this thread in response to another similar thread on the Omega boards. I check them out as well as I have a 2534.50

I was shocked that nearly 57% of those that responded to the poll where not willing to swim with a watch rated to 100 meters - I stated my beliefs - that it is a watch that i**ore than capable of surviving in that environment and I would wear it. Now as I said - I would never say "Hey I am going swimming let me go put a watch on" That said it is rare that I am not wearing a watch and if I decide to go swimming in a pool, a lake or an ocean the watch stays on my wrist and gets wet. Every watch I own is water proof to at least 300 feet and that i**ore than I will ever go.......

I've used an EXPII and GMTIIC for general diving and snorkelling on holiday for years between them - I've never gone over 50m though so...

But given that Rolex invented the Oyster case and have years of consdtructing water resistant watches I think you'd be more than okay - the GMTIIC is far more robust in build to my EXPII so I'd guess it i**ore than capable of meeting it'**inimum 100m - my guess is it is rated 100m as part of the marketing - wouldn do to have the GMTIIC being rated about 200-300m and launching a new Sub at 300m.
Just make sure the crown is well screwed down and enjoy!

Impressive - though I'd have the pushers screwed to prevent accidental presses of the buttons. (not that I dive more than 35m, but still)
